Dave Brewer, director of Supply and Services, would like to remind the College community that due to the vast amount of work performed in this department, there is a real need to give sufficient lead time when submitting print requisitions. The following time lines are requested: 8 Routine duplicating and printing - two working days from the time the requisition is received by the Print Shop © Offset printing - 10 working days from the time the requisition is received by the Print Shop Large jobs often require more time. t least three members of the College community pounded 26.2 miles of pavement on Sunday, May 6, in the 25th Vancouver International Marathon. Included in the nearly 2,300 runners who actually finished the race were Wendy Weberg, divisional assistant for Applied Business Technology, Frieda Wiebe, College librarian, and Yvonne Coady, coordinator of Computing Science. Yvonne finished third in the female 30 to 35 age group and 215th overall with a final time of 3:15:45. A healthy and hearty congratulations to all three! Good placement was also achieved in Capilano College’s Studio Art department, which had two students take home prizes from two separate art competitions. First-year studio art student Janet Kozak was the first What’s the Library Ww your help, what will be new in the library for the fall and spring terms will be the books on the suggested reading lists, which many instructors hand out to students. We encourage you to send your lists to the library as soon as possible, as many of these titles will have to be ordered. Until the end of May, please send the lists to Karin Hall. More than 18,500 entries were submitted from students in the United States and Canada. Winning images can be seen in the magazine’s May issue. The other winner is Biliana Velkova, a second-year studio art student who took home the overall first prize for her paintings in the Beyond Borders: 1996 College Art Competition. Approximately 1,000 pieces were submitted from students in B.C., Washington and Oregon. Biliana was the only Capilano College student to enter the competition, which exhibited accepted work in three Washington galleries: the VU Gallery, the Rader Galleries, and the Allied Arts of Whatcom County exhibition space.
