Hosts sought The College is seeking host families for English language students coming to Cap this summer. The French students will be arriving at the end of May for 6 weeks of study, and students from Japan come at the end of July for 3 weeks. Draw results announced If you bought a ticket in the Commercial Art Club's draw and were still hoping that you might have won something, bad news. The draw was held April 22 and the winners were as follows: Mr. Ken Yue, first prize (a painting by Robert Genn), N. Natsukoshi, second prize (watercolour by Harry Heine), Diane Beadon, third prize (watercolour by Dave Maclagan), and A. Harrison, fourth prize (Dave Maclagan print). The Heritage Society of B.C. is holding a conference from May 29 to June 1 at the International Plaza Hotel in North Van. Among the guest speakers they have lined up are Pierre Berton and Dr. Hanna Kassis, a leading authority on the Ramses II period. Events include a heritage restoration workshop for homeowners, a seminar on railway history in BC, a tour of three award winning heritage sites, a presentation on maritime history, and a lecture on the Ramses II exhibit at Expo. (Lonsdale Quay). The computer based training set-up includes 16 work stations with a pc, colour monitor and laser disc video player with monitor, and there is various introductory and tutorial software. Hours are Monday to Thursday, noon to 8 pm, and Fridays from noon to 4. The Access Centre "will be open at no charge to the post secondary community" until May 11, and will be open on Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th from ace to pm.
