The Capilano Forum on Child Abuse, featuring ECE instructor Lois Rennie, will deal with the various forms of child abuse from neglect to physical and sexual abuse, and will outline the resources that exist on the North Shore to deal with it. Crawford Kilian, who acted as host for the Profiles series, interviews Rennie and representatives from Chesterfield House and the Ministry of Social Services and Housing on the extent of child abuse in our community, its causes, myths about abuse, and resources that are available to help children, abusers and potential abusers. The show emphasizes that there is CONTINUED ... Irish play Cap Blues A Bank of Ireland player is dogged by two Capilano team members during a soccer game held on May 4 at our soccer field. 25 players and 5 administrators from Ireland and England were here on a tour of the Pacific Northwest and stopped in to play a demonstration game with the Cap team. The final score was 1-0 for the Irish—an impressive showing for our team since theirs included ex- professionals. More photos inside. Work-Study projects needed The Student Society is looking for proposais for work-study projects for the fall term. If you have an idea for a project which would keepa student employed for up to 10 hours a week for 12 weeks per term (without infringing on existing staff or faculty positions), now is the time to submit it. The deadline for proposals is August 15, and a memo outlining the requirements for a work-study project is available from Mahmud Tejani in the Student Society. Brainstorm now! There are many worthwhile projects lurking about this campus, both from the point of view of contributing to the college, and to the students' education, and the SS has funding to carry them out.
