APMCP receives thumbs up from CIDA July 4 was a hallmark day when the Honourable Maria Minna, minister responsible for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), visited the North Vancouver campus of Capilano College. During a two-hour meeting the special guest received feedback on the Latin American Management program and the Asia Pacific Management Co-operative program and outlined her vision for the agency. Her visit came on the heels of the long-awaited announcement that CIDA was awarding apmcp another six-year contract worth $2.75 million. LAMP received a $1.25 million CIDA grant last year. In addition to paying salaries of employees throughout the College who work in the programs, 15 per cent of the money from both agreements will be used to support College administrative costs, totalling close to $600,000. While most CIDA contracts run three to five years, this latest contract with Capilano College means that apmcp will have been funded by CIDA for an unprecedented 20 years.
