C a n a d i a n L i b r a r y A s s o c i a t i o n Annual C o n f e r e n c e i n Vancouver.
The award w i l l be i n t h e form o f a p l a q u e , b u t a l s o i n c l u d e s
one y e a r n s h o n o r a r y i n s t i t u t i o n a l membership i n o u r
Association.
Our Awards Committee was most i m p r e s s e d w i t h t h e way i n
w h i c h t h e new l i b r a r y p l a n n e r s i n c o r p o r a t e d t h e p r e v i o u s
s t r u c t u r e i n t h e new b u i l d i n g , and showed s u c h s e n s i t i v i t y
t o t h e s u r r o u n d i n g f o r e s t e d l a n d s c a p e . A l s o noteworthy i s
t h e i n c l u s i o n o f A u d i o v i s u a l s e r v i c e s i n t h e new l i b r a r y ,
and p r o v i s i o n f o r meeting rooms, and i n d i v i d u a l and group
s t u d y a r e a s , making maximum u s e o f s p a c e and a n t i c i p a t i n g
t h e v a r i e d needs o f t o d a y ^ s s t u d e n t s and f a c u l t y . The
l i b r a r y i s t o be c o n g r a t u l a t e d a l s o f o r i t s s u c c e s s f u l
f u n d r a i s i n g a c t i v i t i e s t o support t h e b u i l d i n g p r o j e c t .
We a r e d e l i g h t e d t o make t h i s award, and hope t h a t a
