(@ Capilano Ce College Informer a Keith Watt prestigious Jack Columbia. named a finalist declared enemy Instructor Continues Webster Success lor the fourth time in five years, Capilano College instructor Keith Watt became a finalist for the Webster Award for Journalistic Achievement in British Keith, who teaches audio production in the Media Resources department, was for the 1994 award in radio reporting for his documentary “Stealing Home,” broadcast on the CBC Radio sports program, The Inside Track. The documentary tells the story of the Vancouver Asahis, a team of Japanese- Canadian baseball players who won several championships between the two world wars. They were torn apart when people of Japanese descent were aliens and sent to internment camps in the B.C. interior during the Second World War. “Stealing Home” has already won a gold medal at North America’s premiere radio competition, The New York International Festival of Radio. Keith’s productions have, in recent years, won three Jack Webster Awards, as well as national recognition with the Canadian Association of Journalists, the B’nai Brith League of Human Rights, and international medals at the New York International Festival of Radio.
