Open House Update Creative Quest The committee for the college-wide open house, to be held October 18, needs your help. One of the local radio stations has agreed to be on-site for the entire day, but it needs a hook. They want to challenge one of the items held in the Guinness Book of World Records. Any suggestions as to what that could be? Please send them to Robin Wilson at 983-4262, or Marilyn Taylor at 980-3636. Please keep in mind that the challenge is open to all members of the public. TYP Harvest Fair Volunteer The open house committee is looking for an employee who would be interested in organizing a harvest fair. Because we have a lot of talented and (Conceptual rendition only of open house logo.) enterprising people who may not otherwise be involved in the open house, the committee thought that a harvest fair would offer College employees an opportunity to be involved and perhaps make a few dollars in the process. Some suggested items that could be sold include books, baked goods, produce, theatre tickets, or whatever it is that you happen to be good at making. If it was organized so that there was a set price for tables, the money for those tables could go towards establishing a scholarship or bursary at the College. If you are interested in being involved, please contact Shelley Kean at local 7596. Open House Logo Roberta Fedoruk in Media Production Services has designed a great looking logo for the open house. Special College letterhead will be available by mid-June with the logo on it in full color. The letterhead can be ordered by calling Marilyn Taylor at 980-3636. The open house committee encourages all employees of Capilano College to use the letterhead prior to the open house event. If you have other documents that will be sent externally, the logo will also be available mid-June on the College network at fusers\graphics\openlogo marketing, management, What’s New in the Library — The Cultural Industries 1 in Canada: Problems, Policies and Pros cts, edited : by Michael Dorland This book looks at the history, structure, markets, technologies and the policy framework for Canada’s cultural industries, including book, periodical and newspaper publishing, radio and — television broadcasting, cable __ transmission, sound recording, filmmaking and video production.
