eee the informers College Week held November 16 to 22 is the first national College Week, an event organized by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC). The aim of College Week is to raise public awareness about the role of Colleges in Canada, and the theme this year is "Canada's Colleges ... Touching Lives." Although they date back only to the 1960's, community colleges are now the largest sector of publicly supported post- secondary education in Canada, both in terms of the number of people enrolled in them, and of the facilities available to the public. The ACCC estimates that they directly affect one in seven Canadians—as students, staff or faculty—and colleges are now located in all provinces and both territories. Reprieve from deadline The last day for students to withdraw from a course, change sections, or change from credit to audit status has been moved back to Wednesday, November 19. Other changes in registration, marking and exam schedules will be announced.
