Departing for the Unexplored Southern Area
(U.S.A.) is one of the first faculty mem-
bers of Capilano College. Margaret Andrews
is leaving us to become Assoctate Profes-
sor of History at Washington State Univer-
sity in Pulman, Washington specializing in
Canadian History. There's an interest in
Canadian History down there now thanks to
a great influx of Canadian students,
following a reciprocal agreement with B.C.
on domestic tuition fees. We're sorry to
see Margaret go and wish her well.

Fans of Bob Rennie pull out your calendars
and your red pencils! On Tuesday, July 31
at 9:00 p.m. he will be appearing on Comm-
unity 10 T.V. in a pretaped Probe 44 show
about Business Technology. For any of you
who may have forgotten, Probe 44 is the
District 44 education show that is taped
here at the college Dynamics lab. If, due
to natural catastrophe or death in the
family you happen to miss Tuesday's show,
it will be repeated Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

For those of you who have been waiting in
breathless anticipation for the Capilano
Review, don't give up! It's expected to be
coming out any minute.

Humanities staff as they prepare for the
imminent return of the Humanities faculty. .
Wednesday faculty leave their summer holi-
days and get back to work. In this weather
they may have to, be dragged back though...

A new position has been created and an
interesting person to fill it. Colleen

Bostwick is now the part-time divisional
assistant for Labour Studies. That depart-
ment, by the way, is putting together a
new Women's program for the fall. which
sounds really interesting. Thetr brochure

will be out soon for anyone’ interested.

is optimistic about the way
his basketball players are shaping up for
the fall. The summer basketball league,
which includes private, professional and
post-secondary . teams, ended last night.
Capilano College's team was a mix of re-
turning players from the college and new
players just out of high school who will
be attending Cap in the fall. Last year
team made a good showing, coming in

second -in the league after a hard fought
. match with the VCC team which later went
to the national championships. This year,
who knows...

Kerry Holloway is back ‘down at Community
Ed after holidays down in Elsa, just out-
side of Chicago. With a fine display of
energy Kerry was up mornings at 6:00 to
play tennis--motivated no doubt in part by

the mid nineties degree (by the archaic
system) weather and the high humidity.

Leaving her North Vancouver apartment, she
has succumbed to the scenic appeal of West

Vancouver.
