Dr. 8. Wales, President of Vancouver City
College, was present as guest speaker.
The minutes of the meeting of December 5,_ 1966, were .adopted as circulated.
There was considerable discuseton of notes provided by Peter Wilson of ~n
exploE"atory conversation held with Dennis Franklin, Secretary of the Academic
Bocrdo No conclusions were reached, and the matter was held over for further
discussion at a later meeting.

Dr. Wales then gave an explanatory account of the results of the recent
Federal/Provincial Conference on Educational Finance and m.&de excerpts
available to the committee on the.statements of the Honorable Jean Marchand
Gnd .the Prime Minister. He stressed the importance of the role which should
be played by school trustees through the new college organization in ensuring
an equitable distribution of the educational funds to be made available to the
Province by the Federal Government.

It was agreed that Mr. Jones and Mr. Brooks should meet with Mr. Cocking
of the Wancouver Sun to prepare a publicity release.
