MOVED by Mr. Wallace; seconded by Dr. Wilson: That Mr. Brooks prepare a report, in the form ot notes, which will answer the most commonly asked questions, and which could be adapted by any trustee or official into a speech. CARRIED. Mr. Brooks stated he would like to circularize the answers to controversial questions among the COIJIDlittee members at the next meetingo Mr. Brooks suggested that copies of all speeches should be sent to himo He will keep these on file for the use of other speakerso Mrso Radclif'fe has kindly agreed to start a word-of-mouth information campaign in North and West Vancouver. She will keep the comnd.ttee informed of her progress. MOVED by Mro Wallace; seconded by Mr,. Powell: That Mr. Jones and one or two committee members meet with the publisher and/or editor of all the local newspapers in the four School Districts to solicit their support of the college. It was also agreed that preparation for a publicity campaign in the schools should be made nowo MOVED by Mr. Wallace; seconded by Mro MacDonald: Th.st Mro Parkes be requested to give us a proposal on handling the public relations prior to the plebiscite. CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. Wallace; seconded by Mro MacDonald: That each School Board send letters on behalf of the Committee to all its service clubs im.'!lediately1 asking that Soard members be given the opportunity of addressing them on the subject of the college. Mrs. Spratley•s first two articles were amended slightly and approved for publication. MOVED by Mr. MacDonald; seconded by Dr. Wilson: That we discuss with Mrs. Spratley the most · effective way of releasing them in the press. CARRIEDo Mr. Jones then reported on the Lower Mainland College Coordinating Council" After a lengthy discussion on inter-Board agreement, it was proposed that: (1) capital costs including capital service costs be based on an equalized levy ove~ the four school districts; (2) for the first year of operation, a percentage, possibly 2<1!,8 of operating costs be based on an equalized levy over the tour school districts; · (3 ) the balance or the operating costs be baaed on the number ot students attending from eaoh school district. vhich will be estimated, and which must be converted to millageso Mro MacDonald will. draw a draft inter-Board agreement and send a copy to Mro Eapley in Victoria for comment, with copies to Messrso Jones and )rooks., Mro Brooks is to prepare a statement or the estimated oper ating cost for the f irst year of operation of t he college ~ - J - MOVED by Mr. MacDonald; seconded by Dro Wilson: That we write a letter to the Water Board, copy to the District of North Vancouver, informing them that the Committee is interest&i in the property east of the Capilano Dam, that we are awaiting our consultant's report, and that we would appreciate further discussion after we receive thiso CARRIEDo MOVED by Dro Wilson; seconded by Mro MacDonald: That Mrct Ferguson be authorized to employ saneone, it necessary, to provide a prelim.inail'"y report on the facilities of West Vancouver Senior Secondary School regarding space -parking and portables -- and other engineering aspects of the proposed college arrangemento CAR.ttIED.
