Capilano NDP

A COLLEGE faculty
member is the latest NDP
bannér-bearer on the North
Shore.

Olga Kempo, a North
Shore resident and in-
structor at Capilano College,
has been nominated to
represent the Capilano
constituency of the New
Democratic Party in the next
provincial election. She has
been an active member of
the constituency association,
both federally and
provincially, for a number of
years.

Kempo, who obtained her

women’s groups, and has
served on various com-
mittees both in the com-
munity and at Capilano
College. These include the
Committee for an _ In-
dependent Canada as
Vancouver chairperson, and
the committees for Canadian
and International Studies at
the college. She-has recently
been active in expressing
concern regarding cutbacks
in education funding.

Her priorities include
providing an economic
climate which will ensure
job opportunities and ‘a
decent standard of living for
all; and on developing the
potential of our human
resources. She hopes to
meet as many constituents as
she can, personally, between
now and the election call.
