The Informer Page 3 October 11, 1988 Art in Women’s Centre The Women’s Centre is pleased to announce the acquisition of two pieces of textile art by Clay and Textile Arts student Bev Neilson. These works may be viewed during the Centre’s hours, which are: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Wednesday, 4 to 8 p.m. Anyone interested in buying Ms. Neilson’s work can contact Meineke Mees in the Art department at 2008. The tow truck is back in action. Payless Towing will be patrolling the roadways and parking lots around the College and will remove all illegally parked vehicles at the owner’s expense. If you should suffer this indignity, the charge is $30 for the first day and $5 for each additional day. Cars are towed to a compound at Third and Lloyd Avenue in North Vancouver. It is important to phone ahead if your car is there because the compound is not always manned. Phone 988-4176. If a truck is available, the towing company will pick you up outside the North Cafeteria. Payment can be made by VISA, Mastercard, or cash. Cheques are not accepted. Anyone who has special parking requirements should contact Ken Hughes at local 2962 or their administrator. Wondering who you are? New Scholarship Available for Computer Students Students enrolled in the Accelerated Computer Systems Management program will now be eligible for an annual scholarship of $300 provided by the Canadian Information Processing Society. CIPS, Canada’s largest professional association of information systems pros, hopes this scholarship fund will encourage communication between educational institutions and industry and raise CIPS’ profile with students. Winning Design Students Three students from the Graphic Design and Illustration Program have received awards from the B.C. and Yukon Community Newspapers Association. Shelley Dubois and Marie Harrison, first year students, and second year student Jan Segar were recognized at a recent banquet for their noteworth G.P.A.s and interest in the industry.
