Pornography film draws crowds "Not a Love Story'', the film about the ex- ploitation of women in the . pornography business, certainly attracted a lot of attention at the College. Over 500 people attended four showings (three Thurs. Jan. 28 and one that Friday) and the Student Society and Women's Resource Centre manag- ed to handle the showings very wel! des- pite the large numbers. Remarked Pat Pope: "Clearly the film demonstrated that there are a lot of men and women curious about ‘pornography.' My daughter and her friends appreciated the 'women's only' showing and welcomed the opportunity to speak with Dr. Patty Groves and other women about some of their concerns.'' If you missed this excel- lent film, you still may be able to catch up with it around town somewhere -- it has been shown in several other places includ- ing UBC. Health Services investigates accident A woman walking across the north campus a couple of weeks ago was concerned to see aman lying on the’ ground surrounded by people who didn't seem to know what to do with him. As she paused to take stock of the situation she overheard such comments as ''Shall we move him?! ''No, I'm not sure'! and concerned by the confusion she immed- iately went over and reported the incident to Health Services. The Health Services people, understandably concerned, investi- gated, only to discover that the young man on the ground was the victim of a practice session for Outdoor Recreation First Aid maneuvers. They tell us that ''the concern- ed citizen returned later in the day to find out if we had indeed attend- ed to the situation, and we were happy to report the results of the inves- tigation." Programs and displays will be held in Vancouver Playhouse, Robson Square and a variety of local businesses. Information Local 321
