TICKET INFORMATION The Pacific Jazz & Blues Festival Association is very pleased to announce the schedule for the upcoming FIRST ANNUAL PACIFIC JAZZ and BLUES FESTIVAL, August 19-25 in Vancouver. ADVANCE TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR: Following a highly successful pre-festival concert series which featured French pianist Michel Petrucciani, American multiinstrumentalist Vinny Golia, and the internationally acclaimed bluesman Johnny Copeland , the inaugural festival promises to be an exciting cultural event as well as an historical first for the City of Vancouver. More than 100 world class musicians representing Vancouver, the United States, Europe and Africa will perform at a variety of Vancouver venues including the EXPO Centre, Granville Island, the Landmark Jazz Bar, the Hot Jazz Club and various Gastown clubs. The music accommodates all tastes and styles, from blues to bop to avant garde, dixieland, swing and funk. Next year the PACIFIC JAZZ & BLUES FESTIVAL will continue to expand, thus gaining for Vancouver the international recognition already accorded to the Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton and Ottawa festivals. The goal of the Pacific Jazz and Blues Festival Association is to provide an environment for the year round enjoyment of great jazz and blues music, culminating in a festival each August. It is something that is long overdue in a city with Vancouver's sophistication .
