Still openings in TV Acting course Cap College is extraordinarily lucky to have Michael Berry teaching the credit free course on Acting for Film and Tele- vision. He has extensive experience and credits in performing for film and stage, directing and producing. He has been the series director of Huckleberry Finn, the Beachcombers, Leo and Me, Any Number can Win and Hourglass, among many many others, and now he is teaching courses in our cam- pus T.V. studio. There are three courses starting this week and there is still room for people to sign up. The Introductory course, which includes a grounding in stu- dio drama procedures and the opportunity to work in a closed circuit situation, be- gins Friday evening and runs for 6 3 hour sessions. The studio course for those with previous theatre, film or TV experience, (such as extra and commercial work) begins Thursday and will run for 10 4 hour ses- sions. And finally, the Junior course for ages 11, 12 and 13 begins Saturday. This course runs Saturdays and Monday evenings for 10 2 hour sessions. According to Berry there is an enormous market right now for skilled, trained performers for TV and it is increasing at an astronomical rate. And that includes children who are able to perform in front of a camera. This may be a great opportunity to break into the field. Fees for the three courses are $135 for Introduction, $355 for Studio and $150 for children. And of course faculty and staff can get fee waivers. For some _ families and individuals on the North Shore it's going to be a bleak Christmas -- they live below the poverty line and whatever income they have goes towards survival needs. CoPro (North Shore projects for the low income and handicapped) is a non-profit, self-help society giving support to these needier people in our community. CoPro runs ‘two free clothing exchanges (one at the N.S. Neighbourhood House, the other at 1538 Marine Dr, W. Van.) in which one per- son's castoffs become anothers mainstay. If you have clothes and household goods you'd like recycled, please channel them to CoPro. If you have items which could become appropriate Christmas gifts for children, especially teenagers, please let CoPro enrich someone's Christmas with them. Terry Adler in E.C.E. is starting a CoPro Christmas Collection. You can drop things off at her office, South Campus Tower, A104 anytime. Or deliver things to either of CoPro's offices from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Or call CoPro's co-ordinator, Barbara Davies at 922-4234 for pickup of your donation. Please remember how good it feels to share and help make CoPro's Christmas happier!" Silly filler Here's a throw-away piece with a little mathematical manipulation that may amuse you.
