Pauline Johnson, the Mohawk Princess' in our Studio Theatre this week. The two person play, with Fran Burnside as Pauline and John Burnside as "the men in her life" was written by Betty Keller, the author of the book Pauline: A Biography of Pauline Johnson, which won the 1982 Canadian Biography award. (Our library has a copy, incidentally, and it is recommended as a very interesting read. ) Most people in Vancouver know Johnson only for her book "Legends of Vancouver" and the monument which marks her grave in Stanley Park, near Ferguson Point. But Johnson was extremely well known and popular in Canada as a poet, | whose entertaining and dramatic performances on the recital CONTINUED ... Students thrive in Japan Our two students in Japan are doing well, according to one of their instructors at Aichi Gakusen College, who describes them as "bright and wonderful students." Sheila Gilmour, an Academic student, and Shana Rablah, who was in her second year of Studio Art, are currently studying at the Japanese college and starting to gain insight into Japanese society and culture, CONTINUED ... Lecture on Nicaragua upcoming "Nicaragua Under Siege" is the topic of a slide presentation and talk being sponsored by the Student Society and the Social Sciences Division. Renowned author and lecturer Philip Russel will be introduced by Dr. Bernardo Berdichewski, and all this will take place on Thursday, February 13 from 12:30 to 2:00 pm in room L211. = capilano college
