United Way Final Report

Numbers are “Swell” and All is Well

Thank you is such an easy thing to say
to people, who help people
the United Way

For your information, last Tuesday evening |
attended an awards evening at the Hotel Vancouver
on your behalf, and to my delight we were
introduced as “A Star Account.” Thanks to YOU we
were acknowledged as having one of the most
creative and efficient Campaigns among the
Educational Divisions. Please take the time to read
the attached letter addressed to all at Cap from the
United Way.

As a result of YOUR participation and eager
response to campaign fundraisers, dollars reported

to date are:
$6,500

(which is well beyond the goal set for the 1987
Campaign and an increase of almost $1,000 over
last year's contributions).

Acknowledgement and Special Thanks:

* Those who chose to give through payroll deduction
and or direct gift giving.

* Those who contributed dollars through volunteering
time and energy and participating in the “Danger
Bay Challenge Game”, “Batty Book Bash” and
“United Way Parking Draw.”

* The “Danger Bay Cast and Crew” who added to
our donations with their team collection. (Attention:
Cap’s 88 WINNING TEAMS see attached
CHALLENGE LETTER and then phone Bruce
Baigent or Brian Christie, Dynamics Lab to find out
when training begins.)

* Barb Renaud, Beaver Foods, North Campus
Cafeteria who so greatly assisted with the “Raffle
Draw Prizes” and food donations for the “Danger
Bay Game.”

* To the Achievement Resource Centre Faculty who
patiently and consistently keep me sane
throughout the yearly campaign efforts.

Danger Bay issues challenge
October 2, 1987

Dear Ms. Hamilton:

Please find enclosed a cheque in the amount of
$150.00 representing Danger Bay’s donation to the
United Way. We collected these funds during our
UNDEFEATED season of baseball and would like to
contribute them to the United Way at this time.

We look forward to a rematch with Capilano College
(following our intensive spring training in 1988). We
hope you can all make it.
