Business Administration faculty member, Paul Cubbon, experienced one of the more pleasurable aspects of international student exchange programs. Paul taught visiting French students from U’Institut des Hautes Etudes Economiques et Commerciales (INSEEC) in the summer of 2002 and hosted a group on a hike and barbeque. The students were keen to return the hospitality. As part of a European holiday in June 2003, Paul and his family spent several days in Paris. The above photo shows INSEEC exchange students Benoit Escard (second from left), and Cindy Fargeot (second from right), plus Benoit’s parents (head of table), entertaining Paul (third from right) to an evening of sumptuous French cuisine. Benoit and Cindy have successfully graduated and are pursuing international business careers. Good friendships have been formed and nurtured, and Paul got to use his schoolboy French for the first time in many years! To cap an exciting summer, Paul became a Canadian citizen in August.
