WE WERE SWAMPED IN EVENTS THIS WEEK THANKS TO Womens Resources, Financial Aid, and the Capilano Courier. ~ NEWS * NEWS It is entirely possible, even likely, that you know or have heard of Peter Kellington and Jim Bizzocchi. These two people (in case you don't know) happen to be Media Resources types-~the ones that hide in the room next to the South library and expose film. (Sounds risque, doesn't it?) Anyway (I will get to the point yet) the two of them have been busy filmmaking and their efforts are being recognized. Two films that they produced have won prizes at the Northwest Film and Video Festival in Port- land, Oregon - a particular accomplishment since they are both 8 mm films and they were up against 16 mm competition. "We'll Do Our Fishing", a documentary on Indian fishing techniques won an honorable men- tion while "Sinumwak" a 20 minute documen- tary on oolichan fishing in Bella Coola, won one of the contest's six prizes. The films were both produced by Peter and Jim for the Union of B.C. Indian Chiefs as a record of traditions to exchange and com- pare among B.C.'s tribes.
