As a result of the initial meetings of 1970, the Foundation was formed and has been actively in operation over the last eight years. The Foundation is a totally separate entity from the College being registered under the Societies Act with its own by-laws. As a result of its registration as a charitable foundation, suitable receipts for income tax deduction claims are supplied to donors. Meszaros, Sandy Julia (a) To foster in the Regional District comprised of School Districts No. 44, 45 and 48 (North Vancouver, West Vancouver and Howe Sound) in the Province of British Columbia, community interest in promoting higher education and training among those capable of profiting by it. (b) To act as a recipient of Trust funds in the form of monies or other properties given to the College for determined or indeterminant use, and to receive any funds for use as the Executive Committee decides is in keeping with the Foundation aims. (c) To raise funds from time to time as required by public subscriptions, donations, gifts, or otherwise, and to assist in defraying expenses of worthy students of Capilano College in need of financial assistance,in order that they will be enabled to proceed to higher education and training. ( d) To grant monies and other assets to the College as may be approved by the Executive Committee of the Foundation. Donations from all persons interested in assisting students at Capilano College enable the Foundation to build a larger capital sum for the future. As the income from this fund grows, so can more students be assisted. Please consider contributing through direct donation or future bequest.
