THE INFORMER PAGE 5 OCTOBER 29, 1991 All-College Forum Don’t miss this important forum on Capilano Col- lege’s future role in the post-secondary education sys- tem. Recent decisions to establish several university- colleges and additional universities outside the Lower Mainland have inspired this second look at Cap’s Mission and Goals. The deans believe that in order to compete effectively for the scarce financial resources that will become available, Capilano must carve out a unique niche for itself. Some suggestions offered include making Cap a degree-granting institution specializing in unique degree programs, developing an interdisciplinary degree in Liberal Arts, and/or expanding on our post-baccalaure- ate and post-diploma programs. Frank Gelin, Dean of Academic Studies and current chair of the Committee of Deans says, “The outcome of deliberations on these matters will have profound implications for long-term development of our college, and I hope that we have good turnouts at our forums.” There will be two forums to accommodate diverse schedules. The first will be held Thursday, November 14 in Room M101 from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m., and the same issues will be discussed Friday, November 15 in Room H501 from 1 to 3 p.m. Sandra Moe presented Womens' Studies student Linda Myers with the North Vancouver Women’s Liberal Commission Award at a ceremony Sept. 18. The award gives part tuition to a student in Women’s Studies. Also pictured is commission past president Gerda Dodson and Gordon Wilson.
