Fin. Aid seeks scholarship candidate

The Financial Aid office is looking for
help from faculty members—they would like
your recommendations for the Terry Fox
Humanitarian Award Program. The Terry Fox
scholarship is worth $3000 annually for up
to four years, subject to the student
making satisfactory progress. Financial
need is not a major qualification, or to
quote the award administrator, "In making
its final selection ... the committee will
consider the extent to which candidates
demonstrate the highest ideals and
qualities of citizenship and humanitarian
service while in pursuit of excellence in
their academic, amateur sport, fitness,
health, and voluntary community service
endeavours." They are particularly looking
for candidates who show academic and
athletic excellence while contributing to
the community, particularly in the face of
"obstacles" such as physical disability,
