Awareness concert planned The College Awareness Campaign has organized a concert on Wednesday, March 27 at the North Van. Centennial Theatre. There will be music, visual presentations, keynote speakers, and, anything but least, Judith Forst, Mezzo Soprano. There is no admission price for the event which starts at 7:30 pm. Music in Moosejaw Arlene McIntyre, a vocal instructor with the Music department, is currently in Moosejaw, but she didn't go there just for the bright lights and wild times. She is giving a workshop and adjudicating a Music festival. Graduates chosen by Pace Two Bachelor of Music program grads made their old department proud when they were appointed as consultants in the Pace Piano Program by the Director of the International Piano Teaching Foundation, Dr. Robert Pace. Beverley Atkinson and Polly Carnsew of West Vancouver will be consultants in the Pace Program which is taught through Cap College. Dr. Pace is an internationally known music educator whose program is used in a great many countries, and he has appointed 150 consultants in Finland, Norway, Brazil, Korea, Japan, China, the U.S., and Canada. These consultants give training programs to provide piano teachers with creative teaching techniques and new activities that will motivate their students and bring new life to their teaching. The classes include: keyboard improvisation, ear training activities, related repertoire and duets, technique, sightreading, testing students, studio organization, parent- teacher relations, lesson planning and goals, fundamentals of theory, harmony, and games. ยป Central. America forum Central America will be the topic of a special forum sponsored by the Special Events Committee on Tuesday March 26 at 12:30. The speakers on the panel will be Dr. Bernardo Berdichewsky, Anthropology instructor and executive member of CALACS (Canadian Association of Latin American and Caribbean Studies); Daniel Gautreau, freelance photojournalist; Patricia Lane of the Central America Legal Working Group; and Stan Persky, Political Studies instructor. They will be talking about the current situation in Latin America, with particular reference to El Salvador and Nicaragua, and there will be time for audience questions and participation.
