NEWS NEWS lt's never an easy job to announce a trag- ic accident, and it's made particularly hard when the person involved is young. But that, unfortunately, is the case with Jamie Sanford, the skip of Cap's champion- ship curling team who died March 22 Ina car accident just outside of Chilliwack. Jamie and a friend, who were on their way back from a bonspiel, apparently got on the wrong road and then had an accident -- the car overturned into a water filled drainage ditch and both boys were killed. Capilano College would like to extend the most sincere sympathy to the family of this first year academic student who wil] be missed by all of us -- particularly his team mates. Remember Pied Pear? They were the group of musicians that came to the North Cafeteria and in a few minutes has the usual dull & dreary lunchtime crowd singing and dancing to their tunes. Pied Pear was so success~ ful, in fact, that they were invited back so if you are already a converted fan or if you were unlucky enough to miss them last time, you've got another chance. From k:30 to 8:30 in the South Cafe there will be a beer garden featuring the group - get there early Thursday, squeeze in and enjoy it. Even if you don't care for beer you're guaranteed to take a liking to Pied Pear. THE CALENDAR |S HERE! That 144 page cate- logue of the wonders of Capilano College into which so much (so very much) blood, sweat and tears is put (1 should know) has come off the press and is even this minute being distributed around the College. A really nice, morbid note to enter final exams on is being provided by the last of the Student Society's free movies - ''inva- sion of the Body Snatchers.'' Jim Ferris and the Student Society really deserve a pat on the back for the free movie nights which have been an unqualified success. More of the same next term?
