DONNA McCLAREN, B.H.Sc., Certificate of Ceramics Miss Mclaren is a prolific ceramic artist holding one· man shows semi-annually and many of her creative pieces can be found locally. She teaches ceramics to beginners and advanced students as well as doing additional research in glazes and creating new designs. Miss Mclaren was educated at Sheridan College School of Design; enrollment and her students will testify that she is an excellent teacher. TED KINGAN, N.D.D. A.T.D. (Mane.) Co-ordinator Mr. Kingan brings to Capilano College the recognition as an excellent painter, highly competent teacher and efficient administrator. He came to Canada from En· gland in 1959 and has resided in North Vancouver since that time. He was an executive member of the B.C. Society of Artists, and from 1964 to 1968 was the Art Consultant to the North Vancouver School Board. Mr. Kingan has participated in numerous exhibitions and has had several one-man shows. ROSE NAUMANN Mrs. Naumann has travelled and studied extensively throughout Europe and North America and has been teaching her creative talents in weaving and macrame for the past two years at Capilano College. She has participated in several exhibitions and received accla· mation and awards for her creative work. Mrs. Naumann is presently preparing a book about off-loom weaving. ED COTTER, B.F.A., M.A., M.F.A. Mr. Cotter brings a varied background of art and art history to his teaching at Capilano College. As a Ca· natian artist and art historian he was educated in both Canada and the United States. His primary area in art is sculpture and his major area in art history is the nineteenth and twentieth century. Mr. Cotter has par· ticipated in exhibitions and has had several one-man shows. His sculpture can be found in private collections in Canada and the United States. STEPHEN LESKARD, Diploma of Art A gifted and noted Canadian artist who was raised in Poland and undertook his art training in England. In the past thirty years he has participated in many ex· hibitions internationally and has had many one·man shows. His paintings and drawings are to be found throughout Canada. Mr. Leskard was the initiator of the art program at Capilano College in the Fall of 1969 and brought with him many years of teaching experience. FRANK MOLNAR A very talented Canadian artist who was raised in Hungary and had his formal art training in the United States. Mr. Molnar spent four years at the noted Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts prior to coming to Canada. He has had several one-man exhibitions and has participated in several group shows through· out Canada. His paintings and drawings are to be found in private collections in Canada and the United States. SID DYKE Mr. Dyke returns to Capilano College with an extensive commercial art background and several years teaching experience at a community college. He is an excellent instructor on commercial techniques, as he himself is a highly competent craftsman and graphic artist. He was the art director for Zenith Graphics ltd. from 1957 to 1971. BOB JOHNSON Mr. Johnson, along with instructing Lettering, Type, and Illustration, operates his own stud io in advertising design on the North Shore. His qualifications include a variety of design positions and numerous awards. He brings to Capilano College an immense wealth of experience from which many students have profited . ... ... tim francis
