Co-ordinator takes Leave Eleanor Worman, who has been co-ordinator of the Early Childhood Education program since it started, is on a year's leave of absence and Terry Adler is taking her place. We were interested to find out, in- cidentally, that Eleanor lives on Passage Island and commutes to Horseshoe Bay by rowboat. She is a graduate of Vancouver School of Art who has studied in Banff, Mexico and Germany. She has written a book on weaving and her well known felted wallhanging is displayed permanently at the Arts Club Theatre. If you recall, she had a show in Munich last Christmas and while she was there flew over to Tunisia to study the weaving tra- ditions there. But this is not a biography of Rose--this is a build up for her course "Feltmaking: Potential for the Fiber Art- ist'' which is being held through Community Ed. Saturday Sept. 26 and Oct. 3. In this course the rediscovery of an ancient tech- nique will be placed in’ historical per- spective with discussion of the prepar- ation of fleece, dyeing, teasing and card- ing. Included will be planning and design- ing for projects, development of ideas, sketches, paper design, embroidery and applique with felt.
