oe =) years! ASE reunion Submitted by Terry Byrnes Last March, the Adult Special Education department at Capilano College held its first reunion for past students and by all accounts the day was a great success. The event was tied in with the annual learners’ event, which is organized by Alternative Career Training program instructor, Laverne Thompson. The theme was Connections and ACTP students from the past 15 years were invited to participate. It was an opportunity for former students to share with current learners their experiences since leaving the College, and to provide them with helpful advice. The International Student Centre’s Ursel Brown (centre) was recognized for outstanding customer relations at the 2003 Employee Recognition event. A special day Sunshine and laughter were additions to the menu of the 2003 employee recognition event held at the North Vancouver campus on Wednesday, April 30. Master of ceremonies, James Cooke, kept the humour and the pace flowing while guests enjoyed the uplifting sounds of a jazz combo comprised of Jazz Studies students. They were also treated to a delicious lunch prepared by Chartwells, and a Talking to Americans-type video produced by yours truly (Shelley Kean) and taped by online technician and event photographer, Ken Barbour. As well, everyone received a token of appreciation.
