———— the Volume VII No. 15 June 12, 1985 informer High Schoolers experiment with Cap 84 senior secondary students from the North Shore, Howe Sound, the Sunshine Coast, North Burnaby, and East Vancouver were on campus May 16 for the Fifth Annual Science Enrichment workshop for outstanding students. Once again, this series of workshops for highly motivated math and science students offered a variety of lab projects in biology, chemistry, math/ computing science, and physics with intensive instruction from Cap faculty. Among the topics covered were: extraction of DNA from salmon sperm; organic synthesis of the sun-screen agent PABA (Para- Aminobenzoic Acid) followed by CONTINUED ... som Students take the Pledge There was a very solemn moment on campus a couple of weeks ago when 51 students gathered together to take an important pledge. With hands on their English dictionaries they vowed that none but English words would cross their lips for six weeks. They are, of course, the French Canadian students who are here for their English immersion program at Cap.
