Copies of the application form have been distributed to each divisional office and a master appears at the back of your Faculty Development Handbook. Faculty Development Handbooks By now you will all have received a copy of the Faculty Development Handbooks which provide a description of the Mandate of the Committee, a definition of Professional Development, and, an explanation of the procedures and criteria which govern the adjudication of Faculty Development Grant requests. Several committees have worked on this document. The last committee has really had the least amount to do with it having simply completed the administrative consultation process, tidied up language and created standard forms for applications. Considerable time and energy was invested in the many drafts. Faculty owe a vote of thanks firstly to Reid Gilbert, our first Faculty Development Liaison for the creation of the concept that professional development for most faculty is cyclical in nature and then to Ruth d’Hollander, our second Faculty Development Liaison for refining and organizing the content and getting it approved in all areas of the College.
