The cast plaster piece is by Studio Art spring graduate, Richard Whatley. It greeted
students and employees returning from summer vacation in September. Studio Art
instructor, George Rammel, says that as long as installations and art around the campus

are respected (and not vandalized), we may be surprised again.

Development Committee

Ihe Faculty Development Committee

will be adjudicating grants this fall
and again in the spring of this academic
year. The fall deadline for handing in
grant applications is Monday, Oct. 19,
1998. Guidelines for grants can be
found in the Faculty Development
Handbook, available from your
coordinator (we have extras for those
who have never received one or
misplaced it). Please call Annette
Lorek, committee chair, at local 2143
for a grant application or for a copy of
the handbook.

We are also looking for ideas for PD
days in the spring and for brown bag
lunches. Please contact Annette or any
of the other committee members with
your suggestions. They are: Joanne
Ritchie, Ethelyn McInnes-Rankin,
Fiona Black, Chris Gratham and Jean
Clark.
