April 18/97 Last Chance for Theatre Donor Wall he new Capilano College Performing Arts Theatre will be officially opened on Friday, October 17, 1997, as part of the College-wide open house that weekend. Gifts of $500 or more will be acknowledged on a donor wall designed and donated by Henriquez Partners Architects. Donors at this level will also have a seat named in their honor. The wall and the seats will be dedicated October 17 at a gala evening of entertainment to which all donors will be invited. The deadline for the donor wall is July 1, 1997. Payroll is now in room 413, where you can reach Rose Georg, Ivana Schier, Karen Gordon and Iris Cunningham. This is the same room where Linda Denley, benefits clerk, has been hiding out for the past couple of months. Our new supervisor of Advising is Anna Lee Boulton, who joined us in March along with the new manager of the International Student Centre, Gary Henkelmann. Gary is the former executive director of Canada Youth Vancouver and has extensive experience working with international students and on international projects. Welcome to you both! Yasmin Noormohamed is back with us again after being away for a couple of years and is now the secretary for Stephanie Forsyth, dean of Community & Foundation Programs. Glad to have you back, Yasmin! You may also have noticed another new face in the building. Working with Peggy Shannon is the new First Nations officer Darrell Gaddie. Welcome aboard, Darrell. We are currently in the selection process for both the TFT receptionist in Continuing Education and Contract Services and the RFT position of program assistant in the Outdoor Recreation/ People teve Gallagher, former manager, Computer Support Services at Capilano College, has accepted a new position — and thank goodness, it’s still with us! Actually, Steve’s position has been reclassified and retitled to reflect the actual duties that he performs and to recognize the requirements the College has for administration of computer technology. His new title is director, Computer and Communication Services. His previous position will not be filled at the present time. Greg Gates finally has a place to call home. He has filled the position of manager, Financial Reporting/Workload Systems. Ian Robertson was the successful candidate for the position of director, Buildings and Grounds. Staffing in the Planning Department has been settled and Nancy Morris has been confirmed as the planning assistant II and Connie Barber is the new planning assistant I. Congratulations to you both! For those of you who haven’t heard, Adele Herbert has retired, but she is still here helping out in a temporary capacity in Continuing Education and Contract Services. Adele has been with the College since 1980. We’ll be sad to see you go but I am sure we haven’t seen the last of you (I hope!!).
