Fisher, Chair of the CKNW Orphans’ Fund, with a certificate of appreciation. The Fund donated $100,000 to the Capilano College Foundation. The more money you earn, the easier it is to support your children. But when you have children to support it’s hard to find the money to get an education in the first place. The CKNW Orphans’ Fund has done some- thing to help. The fund’s recent donation of $100,000 to Capilano College will allow students with dependents to pursue their educational goals. The donation will be matched by the provin- cial government’s Matching Endowment Pro- gram. The Capilano College Foundation is work- ing hard to raise another $50,000 for this bursary fund, which will bring the total to $250,000. This would help about 45 students each year. “As a result of this generous donation from the CKNW Orphans’ Fund many additional Capilano College students and their families will be able to better prepare for their future,” said Foundation president Daryl Collier. “We thank the CKNW Orphans’ Fund on behalf of all these future students.” College Joins Day of Remembrance Soon it will be two years since the day when 14 women were killed at Ecole Polytechnic in Montreal.
