But the emphasis is on "skilled". According to the Business O ffice Training (BOT) department at Capilano C o l l e ge, offices are becoming more complex and jobseekers who are familiar with a wide range of office machines and procedures have a better prospect of securing a job. Responding to current needs, the BOT department has completely updated its program to meet the needs of business and industry for office staff trained in modem technology. The program, which is being introduced in May, is now eight months long and en­ compasses three options: Bookkeeping, Clerk-Typist or Stenographer. Bookkeeping students are trained to handle the ac­ counting procedures of a small business or to be part of an accounting team in a larger firm.
