$e Cariane $e Gliege Informer Fall 1994 Registration Moved Like Clock Work A smooth, quick process greeted usiness Administration and Academic Studies students at the fall in- person registration. Thanks to a few modifications in the permit procedure and experienced staff assisting at every step, students completed the process in 30 to 60 minutes. The students and staff working at the Step One Reception site in the Sportsplex set the upbeat tone for the registrants. This positive tone carried through to the Advising and Course Approval area where students found faculty, advisors, counsellors and registration staff to help them. At Data Entry, students found other helpful registration staff and cashiers to enter their courses and deal with fees. ‘PEAC Lona ___ IL Advisory Board held its f __ Meeting of the new term on Thursday, September 8. She also credits such new efficiencies as daily morning meetings during registration, allowing for on-the-spot problem solving and increased communication between all areas, and pre-registration workshops run by the Advising Centre, which were attended by more than 600 new students. This was the second term for in- person Business Administration registration. Dianna states that the difference this year was that all admissions were done by Beverley Hughes, admission and registration assistant IT in the Registrar’s office. To quote Bruce Moseley, Business Administration faculty member: “Beverley did a fantastic job. Everytime I dealt with her it was a pleasant experience.” Barb Robertson, associate registrar and director of admissions, was responsible for overseeing the admission of all students and, says Dianna, “did a fabulous job.” According to the registrar, the team involved in registration this year “gave absolutely outstanding service to registrants and faculty.” She would like to thank all those involved on a daily basis -- switchboard reception, advisors, advising assistants, counsellors, special education advisors, registrar’s office staff, cashiers, financial aid, Sportsplex staff, computer services, admissions, room booking, and facilities staff.
