CA P 1 0 ~ To some, 1978 may not seem anything to get excited about: "just another year ... no big deal. " But to all of us here at Capilano College it is a year for down right jubilation: Our lOth! And we're going to celebrate! We are going to let one another, the community and the province know just what Capilano College is all about, what has been accomplished, what is happing here, and what is planned for the future. It is a big story to tell. To tell it right, every one of us will have to "get in the act" ... be involved. Beginning this fall there will be a full slate of special events, recognitions, openhouses, displays, cultural and educational programs: a giant "Show and Tell" with our college on parade. Among the college-wide events planned: September An in-house warm up where all will be invited to join in the kick-off ceremonies. October Cap Originals, all those who were responsible for getting us on the right track ''way back when" will be hosted and honored by College Council. October Cultural Evenings, a series of four major November college sponsored concerts or theater events January with Reid Gilbert, Alan Smith and Joy Smith February as impresarios. December CAP REVIEW. Not our literary magazine, but a live stage presentation with several evening performances, during which our best talent will be spotlighted. Afterwards smaller versions may tour the province as ambassadors. March/ A full scale, two-day Open House of the whole April campus where we'll have an opportunity to show our academic wares. May A very special graduation for CAP 10 diploma recipients. In addition there will be traveling art exhibits, television shows, sporting events. newspaper inserts, homecomings for al1.Dll11i, scholarship presentations, community/ college forums ... All the above are just appetizers. The contributions and plans of the individual departments, faculties, staffs and students will be the real "meat and potatoes" of the feast. CAP 10 cont. That is why you have received this invitation, so your ideas and participation can be called upon to make our story the real story. We want our lOth to be the best we can give. There is one major problem, though: your suggestions and plans for this year should be received within the next two weeks along with budget figures so funding can be considered and arranged. United, Capilano College, in the telling and celebration of our story. Glad you are a part of it. Cordially yours
