Introducing: Board member Roberta Kelly The newest member of the Capilano College Board, Roberta Kelly, has lived on the N. Shore 12 years and is extremely well known in the community. Her fifteen years of experience in sales promotion includes holding such positions as B.C. Fashion Director for Sears, Director of Women's Programs at the PNE, Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics, Manager of the B.C. Lions' Cheerleaders and Fashion Editor for "Vancouver Guideline". She is president of her own company, Roberta Kelly & Associates. Kelly has done a large number of lectures and seminars for a wide variety of organizations, including Capilano College. She has been particularly involved with the Retail Management Program and helped coordinate several fashion shows for the department, including, most recently, "Looking West." "IT have saton various boards over the years through my involvement in small business," said Kelly, "but I have never been more impressed with a board than I have been with the Capilano College Board, from the Chairman right through to the individual members. It is a well rounded group and the scope of experience is very diverse. As the new kid on the block I feel extremely fortunate to be working on this board, and it will be a learning experience for me." She added: "My perspective is probably a little different than that of most board members, as I have been involved in teaching and guest lecturing at the college for some years and have had the opportunity to get to know many of the faculty, staff and students—particularly those in the Retail Management and Music programs. I think that Capilano is an outstanding college and that the faculty and staff are among the finest I've ever had the pleasure of working with. The students and faculty are both Al."
