The lo'oundation must be established under the So<:ietiPS Act and government approval is expectal within two weeks. Under the slogan ''Gift-. go an Giving Through the Capilano Collel!e Foundation," the aim is to appeal for gifts for the foundation's endowment pool. Investment rev2nue from these gifto.; will be used for burscholarships, special l'aries , equipment, community service programs. etc. Th2 original fund will be left intact. Chairr11 .1n Alfred Glenesk, principal of Capilano College, leges hav2 trust funds which explained that while other colare tied to their budgets, the Capilano Foundation woul-1 be a separate organization, responsible only to its directorate for decisions. Mr. Glenesk said Capil;:mo will have far more reque<>ts for services tha n it can provide. He pointed out that four tim2S as many students with de.,erving standards applied for scholarship funds last year than could be granted. The constitution allows three classes of members, chart2r, associate and honorary. Charter members who signed the constitution, remain as charter members for life. Associat2 membership is open to the public and carries a fee of S5 per annum. It carries voting privileges at all meetings of th2 Foundation. A donation exceeding $100 approved by the executive committee confers a life membership on th2 donor. The Foundation will be governed by an executive committee made up of two-thirds charter members and one-third associat2 members. Charter members include two residents of the colleg2 district. its principal and 15 business members of the college faculty. Here is the list: Hugh Addison, manager Park Royal Ltd.; W. D. Capilano faculty on the- directorate include the principal Alfr2d Glenesk, Mrs. Patricia and Dr. Ke-ith Wade. Peter Watts was the legal consultant from the law firm of Barbeau, McKercher, Collingwood and Hanna who drew up the constitution.
