/ / h, "---,,,· '-' MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE NORTH SHORE REGIONAL COLLEGE CO-ORDINATING COMMITTEE HELD FEBRUARY 15TH AT 12:00 NOON 1. Minutes of the meeting of January 5th were adopted. Present: West Vancouver Sechelt - - Mr. Hugh Ferguson Mr. Malcolm Mr. Wilson Mr. MacDonald Howe Sound Mr. Ross North Vancouver - Mr. Jones Mr. Lucas Mr. Brooks 2. Mr. Brooks gave a resume of events subsequent to the last me�ting. J. Mr. Jones reported on the preliminary meeting with Deans. N. F. Chant and indicated the Academic Board's request for a memorandum to supplement the North Shore Report. Considerable discussion followed regarding the memorandum to be pre­ pared for the Academic Board, centering in particular upon the question as to whether any programme of public information should be launched to obtain explicit evidence of public support. It was decided (a) that there was not sufficient time to launch an effective publicity programme and (b) that the memorandum should essentially be developed in the same manner as the presentation to the Minister of Education. 4. 5. Representatives to meet the Academic Board were designated as Mr. Jones, Mr. Wallace and Mr. Brooks. The Secretary was asked to obtain permiss­ ion for one additional member to attend, if possible, to represent the two School Districts of Howe Sound and Sechelt. 6. The Committee agreed to recommend to the member Boards that they share jointly the costs of allowing Mr. Brooks to attend the Superintendent's Conference in Banff in April and the Junior College Leadership Pro­ gramme in July. Representatives of all four Boards were present. (1) The meeting was devoted to a discussion and review of the public presentation of the feasibility report. It was generally felt that this had been a successful and effective presentation. (2) The Secretary was instructed to seek an appointment for representatives of the four Boards with the Minister of F,ducation, in December if possible.
