One of the least publicized events on came
pus was the Student Society's Beer Garden
last Wednesday afternoon in the South Caf-
eteria. It was not, however, by any means

desserted. News of beer at 50¢ a bottie
(cheaper even than draft at the Coachhouse

pub!) has a tendency to travel very fast.
So who needs publicity?

Humble, sincere, and prostrate (but not
grovelling) apologies to Conchita Fursten-
wald from Community Education. On our list
of 1980 co-ordinators we omitted her name.
Of course, we could always plead that her
name was left off the list we got from the

Board, but since she works in the next
office that isn't the best excuse. So we'd
better try again.

And on the subject of Community Education,
you may recall that their registration to-
tals were not included in the registration
statistics we quoted at you jast week. So,
to relieve your overwhelming suspense here
they are. As of January 30 (by which date
a majority of Community Ed's courses had
begun), total registration was 1137. Added
to the credit registration that gives us a
staggering 3845 this term. Does this ex-
plain the parking problem a little better?

Well, it was publicity time for Capilano
College on Friday as the press turned out
in NB 102 for a conference to meet none
other than the Minister of Education. That
exalted entity, Brian Smith, dropped in in
the afternoon for a brief tour, a chat
with the press, and an introduction to our
Board. tntroductions to our Director. of
Planning, Alan Smith, were walved for the
occasion due to technicalities. (They are
brothers.) The moment of glamour/publicity
for our campus was just that, however, for
Brian Smith had to head back to Victoria
the same afternoon. But it was nice to be
in the spotlight for a little while...
