the March 28, 1983 Volume V No. 12 informer Suzuki students perform The small musician on the right is one of the Suzuki violin and cello students enrolled in Capilano College's program. (Yes, we lifted the photo from the North Shore News--we aren't proud.) The students put on a concert at West Van. United Church last week and on May 14 children from all over B.C. will be performing in a special concert at the Orpheum. The kids in the Suzuki program range in age from 4 to 9 and are taught by listening and imitation with assistance and involvement from their parents. For more information call the people at Credit Free (local 323) who administer the program. Best dressed, best in West Well, the women's team didn't win the national Volleyball Championship, but as Coach Joe lacobellis points out, they did tremendously well to get there, and their rank is 7th out of the approximately 80 teams in Canada. Karen Funk, Shannon Macey, Pam Nelson, Cathy Oberhoffner, Dawn Redahl, Jan Simmons, Jacqui Turner and Leah Ellis spent last weekend in Toronto at the Volleyball finals, and Joe says that the experience they gained and their exchange with the other athletes was ''Just excellent!'' Voted the best dressed team, all the members of the Volleyball team have expressed interest in coming back next year and going on to challenge the champions in next year's national in Montreal. And all this from a team at a college that doesn't even have a gym! When one considers that they, practising a couple of times a week for the last few months went up against teams that practice daily almost year-round, you can get an idea of the quality of our team. Special congratulations must go to Dawn RedahI who was voted onto the All Canadian All Star Volleyball Team, Shannon Macey who made the All Provincial All Star team and Leah Ellis, who as well as playing on our Russian Proverb Live and scratch—when you're dead the itching will stop. t= Capilano college
