PEOPLE ane Hamilton, former editor of The J Capilano Review, recently spent a week in Ottawa where she sat on a Canada Council jury to decide literary magazine grants for the coming year. Jane is a past president of the B.C. Association of Magazine Publishers and a past board member of the Canadian Magazine Publishers Association. Kendra Greenslade will provide physiotherapy part-time at the North Shore Sports Medicine Clinic at Capilano College. She was hired with the assistance of the College’s student summer works employees. Former Continuing Education publicist, Liz Morton, is now an alumna of the College’s two-year Commercial Animation program. Liz is one of seven Capilano College animation students who are semi- finalists in the 1998 Teletoon Animation Scholarship Award Competition. She’s listed under the category “Most Promising Student/ Graduate,” for which there is a $5,000 first place award. Winners will be announced at the Ottawa International Animation Festival held Sept. 29 to Oct. 4. You can stop by the College Relations department, where she is helping out for the month of July, to wish Liz good luck. The Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce the appointment of Todd Kozinka as the new head coach for the Blues Men’s Basketball program. Todd will be replacing Richard Cohee who works for the Vancouver Grizzlies in the Community Relations Department. Since graduating from SFU, Todd has coached professionally in Germany and Austria (1993 - 95). “Todd has a wealth of knowledge and experience in coaching basketball,” said Joe Iacobellis, athletic director for Capilano College. “We are very pleased and fortunate to have him on our coaching staff because he will be able to develop the program in a winning style.” Todd has also coached in Melbourne, Australia and recently worked as an assistant coach with Bruce Enns of the UBC Thunderbirds. “The prospect of building a winning college program is a definite motivator for me,” he said. informer 30.
