The Search for Alexander Russel gives pre-Trip lecture The pre-trip lecture for The Search for Alexander tour is being opened up to the public. In case you've forgotten, the Search for Alexander is a major travelling loan exhibition of rare Greek artifacts that is at this moment’ in San Francisco, and Community Ed. has organized two trips to go and see it. The pre-trip lecture, by Dr. James Russell, Professor of Classics and specialist in Classical archaeology at UBC will be held Wednesday April 14 at 7pm in the Lounge. Dr. Russell has done exten- sive archaeological field work in Roman military sites in Britain, city sites in Greece, and since 1970, has directed UBC sponsored excavation at the Roman city-site of Amenurium in southern Turkey. The lec- ture fee will be $5 — for more information contact C.E. at 321. Student Work to be Featured Thursday, April 8 the Student Union is in- viting faculty, students and communi ty members to attend and participate in Stu- dent presentations. This, they feel, will be an opportunity for students from every department and program to report on or to demonstrate interesting discoveries they have made in the course of the year. ''Re- search papers, practical experiences, and insights arising out of any aspect of stu- dent life which could conceivably be of interest to other students, or which might promote greater awareness of the diversity of programs and involvements on campus, will all be#welcomed.'' The event will take place from noon to 4 pm in the Social Sci- ence Lounge.
