Here are some recent developments: ¢ Alumni Database - A centralized database of alumni will be soon available on the network. Alumni information that will be maintained includes student ID, name, address, phone number, program area, gradua- tion year, employer(s), employer address and phone number, awards/ activities. Each spring and fall, graduates will be automatically downloaded from the registration system to the alumni database. In addition, existing alumni contacts will be added in the next few months. Each program area will be able to access their alumni by building a list of names and outputting the names as a WordPerfect merge document, labels or lists. ¢ Alumni Newsletter. The first College-wide alumni newsletter will be distributed in November. The newsletter contains information on the College’s 25th anniversary, the Library, a profile of an alumnus, a calender of College events and alumni news from the program areas. ¢ Alumni Council. The Alumni Development Office would like to form an on-going advisory council of alumni from each interested pro- gram area. The council would meet about three or four times a year to discuss alumni initiatives at the College. Please call the Alumni Develop- ment Office at 984-1765 or loc. 2765 if you have names to include on the database, or if you know an alumnus who would serve on an advisory council. Art Institute Receives Donation of Ink Tom Sperandeo of Pacific Screenprint Inc. has donated $14,000 worth of ink to the Printmaking Program. The ink will be of great value to the Art Institute, a one-year post-graduate program that special- izes in sculpture and printmaking. The artist-members of the program have access to studios, equipment and facilities at the College. The large gift-in-kind donation is greatly appreciated by students in the art program. The Capilano College Foundation receives several gift-in-kind donations each year. Individuals wishing to make a contribu- tion should contact the Foundation Office at 984-4983, loc. 2983. : (Greg Lee, Peter Ke Margot Rawsthorne, Ethelyn _ Mcinnes-Rankin and Robert | Campbell) will devel Budget Cuts Which Way Should | the Axe Fall?
