4 and 5, was the National University of Singapore,
where he delivered a lecture on International Peace
and Order, and gave a speech to the Singapore/
Canadian Press Club. From there he heads for
Kuala Lumpur, where he will give the keynote
address at a workshop given by Oberndorf and
Loblaw on December 8. This workshop is for
business and government leaders, and he will also

Painters lead tour to China

Art instructor David Maclagan, and watercolourist
Harry Heine, who have led several watercolour
painting tours for the Extension department, are off
again—this time to China.

On May 9 they will be leading a painting excursion
on which participants will meet leading Chinese
watercolourists, paint at the Great Wall, and spend
fifteen days in and around one of the world’s most
picturesque painting locations, Guilin. This city has
been the subject matter for centuries of Chinese
watercolours, with jagged rock pinnacles rising
through the mists, and the Li River snaking through
a city site more than 2,000 years old.

Mouth-watering brochures are posted around
campus and are doubtless available from Dave
Maclagan. The trip is being arranged by Neworld
Educational Travel in West Vancouver (922-0422),
and the cost including airfare, hotel, breakfasts and
dinners is $3,192.00 Canadian. Even if you can't
afford this, pick up a brochure and enjoy the dream.
