More from another happy, former student: Dear Ms. Ewing: Because of the number of people you have taught, perhaps my name will not be immediately familiar to you; I am that former student of yours who is now going to Osgoode Hall law school. Just finished first week of classes and so far, so good. The atmosphere is exciting and hospitable. Graduate students from around the world mix freely with the first year students. My classmates include the former editor of a daily paper and a dentist. At this juncture, the debt I owe to you and the other fine instructors at Capilano College is abundantly clear. More than providing courses which are the equivalents of (and in many senses superior to) university courses, your college bridges the intellectual gap between contemporary secondary and post-secondary learning. As high schools will likely only be able to maintain the status quo, and because the world at large will continue to become more complex, the importance of community colleges can only increase.
