Coat Cooke is a Vancouver-based composer/saxophonist
who has presented his music in various contexts ranging from
the N.O.W. Orchestra to his own groups: The Evolution, The
Stellar Sax Quartet, The Coat Cooke Quintet, and Lunar Adventures.
Fo ·his concert, the inspiration springs from many sources
including; rock, chant, various jazz idioms, rhythmic and
structured improvisation, and a general thirst for the transcendant and transformative aspect of what music can be. The
concert will also feature compositions by other members of the
ensemble.
