College Foundation turns 30 The Capilano College Foundation is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a series of events in March and a major capital campaign initiative. The 18-month, $5 million campaign will raise funds for a new international centre to be located on the proposed fourth floor of the Library building, a new computer- ized assisted language lab for the ESL department, technology for the libraries of the three campuses, plus a technology endowment fund. The College's Educational Technology Resource Centre began developing the software to address what user testing at the College determined to be deficiencies in the user-friendliness of current off-the-shelf offerings. Student confusion led Ed Tech manager, Chris Gratham, and Web technician, Al Hovden, to make user-interface design a priority in the development of the Learning Desktop.
