Who We Are
Coastal Jazz and Blues Society is
a community-based, non-profit, charitable
organization which has been contributing
vigourously to the development of
Vancouver's creative music scene since
1986.
Our activities are carried out by a
small yet very dedicated year round staff:
Bob Kerr, Executive Director
Ken Pickering, Artistic Director
John Orysik, Publicity Director
Jeff Turner, Administration
Teresa Clarke, Communications,
which is complemented by the grass roots
support of some 200 volunteers, many
local businesses, various cultural organizations and government agencies.
Operating with a budget of
$750,000 for fiscal 1989, CJBS is managed professionally to achieve its mandate
of increasing public awareness of and
appreciation for jazz, blues and improvised music.
