National Soccer Championships come to Capilano

Donors not spooked on 3ist

Perhaps it was Halloween that got people
thinking of bloodletting, or perhaps it
was the green witch at the Registration

desk who persuaded people to go and bleed
copiously, but whatever the reason, there
was a record turnout for the Red Cross

Blood Donor clinic on Monday. 194 donors

gave a pint and another 40 volunteered but
couldn't be syphoned for one reason or
another. As of press time the winner of
the draw had not been announced.

Munch to music Friday

There will be a classical guitar recital
at noon on Friday (Nov. 4) and everyone is
welcome to come along (bring your lunch)
and listen to Stephen Boswell. This wil]
be in H113 and the program includes:

Blues will be playing

This year for the first time, winning
provincial soccer teams will have a chance
to compete on a national basis. The
Canadian College Athletic Association
(CCAA) is hosting a National Invitational
Soccer Championship right here at Cap
College, and if the event proves
successful, there will be national
championships funded by the government
every year. Teams from Alberta, Ontario
and Saskatchewan will be here November 10,
11 and 12, and the schedule of the
playoffs is listed inside. Our mens team

Staff member dies suddenly

The college community was shocked and

grieved to learn of the sudden death of
long-time employee Rita Johnson from the

Women's Access Centre on Nov. Ist. Rita
died after only a month's illness.
